How long does it take to complete an assessment?

The eBAS assessment should take no more than a few hours to complete, a lot less time than a full site visit would.

It involves completing questions about the set up and structure of your poultry site. The beauty of this assessment is that you can pick it up anytime so if you need to break during completion you can return to it at a time that's suitable.

Do I need specialist knowledge?

No. The assessment has been designed to be practical and straightforward. It focuses on areas of your site which you will already be familiar with.

Does this support funded biosecurity assessments?

No. eBAS is designed to support biosecurity conversations and ongoing risk management. Its structure and detail enables veterinary professionals to utilise information gathered to support the completion of the EDO338.

Why should I use eBAS if I already have my own assessment process?

eBAS doesn't replace professional judgement. It provides a structured, consistent baseline that can support biosecurity discussions, evidence-based recommendations and future reviews.
