Celebrating a Champion: From Biosecurity to Rugby Glory

There was plenty of reason to cheer last weekend as England’s Red Roses powered their way to victory on the rugby field. Among the squad was lock forward Morwenna Talling, who played a key role in England’s triumph – and who also happens to be the daughter of our very own Paul Talling, Biosecurity Advisor.

It’s not every day you get to say a colleague’s family member is helping to shape the future of women’s sport on the world stage!

What stands out about this achievement isn’t just the tries, tackles and teamwork – it’s the message it sends. Rugby, like many of the challenges we face in our own line of work, demands resilience, collaboration and the courage to think big. Morwenna’s journey reminds us that success comes when you put your whole self into the task, back yourself, and don’t let old limits define you.

At our company, we know the importance of bringing energy, commitment and a fresh perspective – whether it’s tackling biosecurity challenges, protecting the environment, or finding innovative solutions that support people and planet. Just like the Red Roses, we’re strongest when we play as a team.

And let’s be honest – it’s inspiring to see women’s sport commanding the spotlight in this way. For every girl picking up a ball and daring to dream bigger, victories like this matter. They show that barriers are there to be pushed, and that leadership, strength and ambition are for everyone.

So, congratulations to Morwenna and the Red Roses on their fantastic win – and congratulations to Paul, who can now legitimately claim to have a world-class role model at the dinner table.

Here’s to teamwork, determination, and celebrating what’s possible when passion meets purpose.
