As a leading voice at the BPC, she plays a crucial role in shaping policies on avian influenza, antibiotic stewardship, food safety, international trade, and environmental management. Her strategic approach ensures that industry best practices continue to evolve in response to emerging threats.
Beyond her work at the BPC, Máire actively contributes to key government and industry groups, including the Defra Avian Influenza Core Group and the Government-Industry Avian Influenza Task Force. She is the current chair of the UK Poultry Health & Welfare Group and represents the sector in international forums such as AVEC, the International Poultry Council, and the International Poultry Welfare Alliance.
